Nichol Yeo
What is your current role, or what are you working on?
I manage Nine Yards Chambers LLC, a firm that I set up in late 2022. I also manage an active dispute resolution practice. We currently have a team of 7 lawyers and in 2025, I am working on expanding the firm’s capabilities. We want to expand the breadth of our services, especially in the areas of criminal, matrimonial, and private client work. We also want to continue building on our practice in complex civil and commercial dispute resolution work.
What is your proudest achievement?
I am extremely proud of my colleagues at Nine Yards Chambers LLC, and for what they have individually and collectively achieved. The past 2 years have been a period of growth for all of us. I cannot help but feel a sense of pride to be able to place all of us together (they could have gone anywhere else), and to work as a team on the briefs that are entrusted to us. In a short span of 2 years, I see real growth as well and I am very excited for what the near future holds for us.
There are now 25 hours in a day! How would you spend your extra hour?
Spend time with my 2 sons, Nathan and Noel. They make me laugh a lot. The time spent with them is enriching – from time to time I get exposed to new, sensible ideas. I think kids actually deserve more credit than we usually give them.
If you weren't a lawyer, what would you do?
I think I want to be a stay-at-home Dad and househusband. But I need to undertake a serious course in tackling the household chores first.
Your favourite food haunt is...?
I think Goldhill Hakka Restaurant 1997 (now at 26A New Changi Road) serves one of the best Yong Tau Foo in Singapore. That said, I prefer their steamed fish, “lala” and raw yusheng. Their plain, simple, dishes never fail to delight me.
